Miranda Cosgrove, star of Nickelodeon’s newest hit, “iCarly,” hasn’t slowed down since the show premiered in September 2007, and she isn’t about to.

On Tuesday, the 15-year-old from Los Angeles won’t just be known as a TV star and teen role model - she’ll officially be known as Miranda Cosgrove, singing sensation.

Can you say, Hannah Montana who?

“iCarly” centers on pals Carly Shay (Cosgrove), Samantha (Sam) Puckett (Jennette McCurdy) and Freddie Benson (Nathan Kress), who produce and star in their own series of Webcasts. “iCarly” broadcasts include everything from wacky comedy sketches, gross or unusual talents, and even Top 10 lists and recipes.

But in addition to her acting duties on “iCarly,” Cosgrove also sings the show’s theme song, “Leave It All to Me” - which led to Tuesday’s release of “iCarly - Music From and Inspired By the Hit TV Show.”

“The producers asked if I wanted to do the theme song for the show, and I had never been in a studio or anything like that before, so I was really excited,” says Cosgrove.

“So I did that and realized what a good time I had and wanted to do more of it.”

Cosgrove will be at the Times Square Virgin Megastore this Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. to meet fans and sign copies of the CD.

“It’s so cool that people actually come stand in line and want to meet me,” says Cosgrove. “Usually everyone’s really nice and I get to hear what episodes of ‘iCarly’ they like and stuff like that.”

Cosgrove performs three original tracks on the CD, her first since signing with Columbia Records earlier this year. They include “Stay My Baby,” “About You Now” and “Headphones On.” “Leave It All to Me” features fellow Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, whom Cosgrove previously worked with on “Drake & Josh.”

She describes her musical style as “fun pop-rock” that’s easy to listen to. She has been taking singing lessons since she was 4, and swears her role in the 2003 Jack Black comedy “School of Rock,” in which she played a tough-talking, whip-smart fifth-grader who is a decidedly terrible singer, was just acting.

“iCarly - Music From and Inspired By the Hit TV Show” also features songs from such artists as Avril Lavigne, Natasha Bedingfield, Good Charlotte and Sean Kingston, as well as dialogue from the series.

“It’s supposed to be the songs that would be on my character’s iPod, but I personally like all the songs, too,” says Cosgrove. “I listen to music all the time so I automatically got excited about this project.”

On top of the musical debut, “iCarly” is premiering a “super-sized” special episode, entitled “iCarly Saves TV,” on Friday at 8 p.m.

In the episode, Carly and friends are approached by a big-time TV executive who wants to buy their Web show and put it on TV, but when he starts taking away their creative control, Carly, Sam and Freddie fight back.

“That’s kind of the whole point of ‘iCarly’ in general, that the kids do it by themselves,” says Cosgrove. “It’s their own thing and they don’t need adults. It was a cool episode to do because it really got the message across that they can handle it themselves.”

Cosgrove is looking forward to more seasons of “iCarly” (in which she hopes the writers finally give her character a long-term boyfriend), auditioning for movies (her favorites are “Mean Girls” and “The Notebook”), continuing her singing career and maybe even college.

“I don’t know if I want to go to USC or NYU,” says Cosgrove. “My dad went to USC, and you know how your parents always want you to go where they went. But I love New York.”
